Great game. It's a must play for those who love open-world RPG's and Viking lore. This is a game that is visually impressive without demanding a $2000 gaming pc to play it. It's quality gaming content over window dressing and hardware wars. This game punches above its price point and is a tremendous value.

Reminds of good old days of games where you buy a game and it gets updated. No 100gb size requirements, no dlc and tons of content

just jumped back in after playing alpha ~4 years ago - this game has come a long way! I haven't played a game where you just 'lose hours' like this in a long time. Valheim combines some of my favorite parts about minecraft + RPGs

I really wanted to like Valheim. I wanted to progress the intended way, earn better gear fairly, and enjoy the adventure. Unfortunately, I just couldn't. Spending hours mining ore completely drained the fun out of the game. At some point, I felt like one of the ore miners from Gothic's Old Camp, spending more time swinging a pickaxe than exploring or fighting. Maybe I'm simply not the target audience, but the amount of mandatory grinding was just too much for me. The progression ended up feeling like a chore instead of a reward, and it overshadowed the parts I enjoyed the most like exploration or boss fights.

An incredibly atmospheric game that you can come back to again and again.

The further you progress, the more you realize you're not prepared for the next area. By the time you reach Ashlands, the game becomes unplayable. Even with maxed out Flametal armor. So imagine when you first get there. Also the game forces you to go through the tedious farming just to be able to make food that can help you survive better.

A brutal exploration and survival game for 1-10 players, set in a procedurally-generated purgatory inspired by viking culture. Battle, build, and conquer your way to a saga worthy of Odin’s patronage!
